Andrej Karpathy, a former leading researcher and member of the founding team at OpenAI and before that, Tesla, has posted on X that he has left the former company once more.
This marks Andrej’s second stint at the company.
He first worked at OpenAI in 2016 and 2017, according to his LinkedIn, under co-founders turned AI competitors Elon Musk and Sam Altman, he left to follow Musk to Tesla from 2017 to 2022 as Director of AI and thus, a leader among its self-driving ambitions.
He departed Tesla in 2022 then rejoined OpenAI for a year from February 2023 to now.
